Using the Manjaro repository as suggested on their wiki:Ģ.1. tried uninstalling the guest additions by sudo sh n uninstall and then following step 2 whish was also not successful! Tried the sudo systemctl stop vboxadd and sudo systemctl disable vboxadd from here but then it reverts the resolution back.ġ.4.5. This solves the resolution problem but every time I reboot I have to wait for 5-6 minutes showing the message:Ī stop job is running for rvice …ġ.4.4. then following the step one in original post and reboot. Then sudo pacman -S linux419-kernelġ.4.3. So I tried solving the problem by installing the Linux kernel header files as mentioned here:ġ.4.1 find the Linux kernel by mhwd-kernel -li which in my case is linux419ġ.4.2. VirtualBox Guest Additions: modprobe vboxsf failedġ.4. Please install the Linux kernel 'header' files matching the current kernelįor adding new hardware support to the system.

This system is currently not set up to build kernel modules. sudo sh autorun.sh or simply by sudo sh n leading to the error: from toolbar Devices > Insert guestaddition image.

After doing this the host key liberates the mouse and allows me to regain control of my Gnome panels, but does not kick the virtual machine out of full screen mode as I expected. I also tried uninstalling guest additions on the XP guest. I upgraded my guest additions after performing the Virtualbox upgrade and tried disabling 'Auto Capture Keyboard' in the Virtualbox preferences with no effect. The host key was previously working and I recently upgraded to Virtualbox 2.1.4. I am running an Ubuntu 8.10 and Windows XP SP 3 guest with guest additions. However, it doesn't resolve the root problem of the host key not working. The solution above indeed allows the virtual machine which was previously shutdown from full screen mode to be started in a window.
